Ofsted visited us in 2025 and found a school filled with warmth, pride and a genuine sense of community. Thongsley Fields Primary School was recognised as a place where pupils feel happy, safe and valued every day. Inspectors saw children who treat one another with kindness, who live out the school values of being ready, respectful and safe, and who thrive in an environment shaped by clear routines and caring, approachable staff. It’s a school where relationships matter, and where pupils know they will be listened to and supported.
They also celebrated the rich experiences pupils enjoy beyond the classroom. From well-loved sports clubs to creative opportunities like the much‑talked‑about Dragon Puppet Club, children are encouraged to explore their interests, build friendships and discover new talents. This sits alongside a strong academic ambition: pupils achieve well, attend regularly and speak with real enthusiasm about their learning. Reading shines particularly brightly at Thongsley Fields, with pupils eager to share their favourite books and inspired by author visits that bring stories to life.
Inspectors praised the school’s well‑sequenced curriculum, the thoughtful way staff build pupils’ knowledge over time, and the dedication shown to supporting pupils with SEND. They saw lessons that were engaging and joyful, especially in mathematics, and work that pupils were proud to produce. They also recognised the school’s commitment to continuous improvement, noting leaders’ focus on staff development and the positive impact this has on pupils’ experiences.
Perhaps most striking was the strength of the school’s ethos. Behaviour is calm and respectful, playtimes are full of purposeful fun, and pupils grow into responsible, empathetic young citizens through community projects and cultural experiences. Staff are proud to work at Thongsley Fields — and it’s clear why. It is a school rooted in care, ambition and opportunity, where every child is encouraged to flourish.
